Designer's notes
We used a buttoned grey velvet bed and bold wood and brass bedside tables and dresser for the furniture pieces in the room to provide plenty of handy storage. Keeping the need of the guest in mind, we dressed the bedside tables with two stunning lamps, trays for guests to put water (otherwise water can stain the top of wooden tables), and books (it is always good for a jetlagged guest to have books at their disposal). We added a beautiful leather clock to complete the styling of the tables. The bed has been dressed in crisp white bed linen and a vibrant blue velvet throw and pillows. I always say that the devil is in the details and the duvet cover and pillows have a beautiful embroidered pattern going across that adds that special touch. My clients love the work of Van Gogh and have happy memories of visiting museums to see his work (their favourite painting is Starry Night). Therefore, we decided to add copies of their favourite artists' work above the guest bed. We have also added a small velvet blue stool for a guest to sit on. To dress the chest of drawers, we added some vibrant faux flowers to encourage a cheerful mood and some beautiful murtis on the side which were a gift from my clients’ mother-in-law. We both agreed that her mother-in-law would love to see them when she visits and they would add to the welcoming vibe of the room. I love the overall welcoming vibe of this guest room and I am over the moon that my clients love it too!
