Designer's notes
The hallway already had some lovely stained glass windows and the pink and green flowers served as the inspiration for our colour palette in this space. The stairs had existing metal filigree style work on the banister that we decided to keep and paint white. We built shoe storage at the entrance and a discrete coat closet on the wall at the bottom of the stairs with a small seat so that our overall space was not negatively impacted. We added a beautiful mirror, stunning brass pendant and a long console to ground the hallway space. On the wooden stairs, we added a runner with green edging. Finally, we added a beautiful picture of water lilies, taken by the client on her cell phone on a trip, over the shoe cabinet that worked perfectly with the colours in the hallway.
